Wow, I read all of that! LOL

Ok, I know you don't like to hear this, but I think this tattoo is absolutely beautiful! I always loved that drawing (in fact I was almost going to ask you to tattoo it on me if I went over there this summer), and I think that the tattooed work DOES do it justice.

Now, despite what I think, like you said, it's what you think that matters. I totally understand where you are coming from. I could write a book about everything I post, but of course I am no where close to the level you are at. So, obviously you are at this point where you do want to prove to yourself that you can do your drawings on skin your way. I think that trying to duplicate something that took you 20 hours to do on paper, onto skin, realistically, is probably not possible. I would assume, and from my minimal experience that it takes even more time on skin to get the same effect from what was on paper! Maybe your expectations are set too high, or possibly you need to dedicate your drawings to clients who will allow you to take the time necessary to complete the peice to your satisfaction, whether in one sitting or more.

Anyway, cheer up, I hate to hear you say you hate tattooing, because you are very good at it, and it worries me that I may end up in your same shoes some day, because we do think alike! LOL More torture ahead of me, that's wonderful! LOL Anyway, the tattoo looks beautiful in my eyes, and if you had done this on me, I would totally love it, mind you, I would have let you complete it to your satisfaction of course!

Well, the tattoo was done with an effort. I can't say i didn't put my day into it. But i know what i could have done with that tattoo and what i wanted to. I almost got there. So i don't hate tattooing, i get pissed off at it. It constantly kicks my ass. It's like an enemy i always try to out do and never can lol. And the tattoos i'm most excited about are always the ones i get most mad at cuz i try harder. So the more i put into a piece, the more i notice cuz there's more into it. It's hard to do a tattoo at the level you try to aim for, so especially when you put so much extra effort into it, you'll be less satisfied because there's extra. I'm happy with the tattoo, but at the same time i know it's not as far as i could have gone with it. So i don't hate tattooing, i just think he's an asshole. I would never quit tattooing if my life depended on it, lol. Ya kidding me? I'm not even half done yet. I am at the point where i want to prove myself, But to myself. I know i can pull something off, but doing it always comes with kinks. It's not a pissed off towards tattooing feeling, it's a funny 'i just got my ass kicked again' feeling. Grrr, ya know. My expectations are high, but i want it like that. All this tattoo taught me is that i'm not there yet, try harder. If i know what i wanted to pull off with that flower and see that i didn't reach it entirely, then i know there's shit to learn. Every time you reach a new level in tattooing, there's always another level waiting. That won't stop if you keep trying. Something kicks your ass for so long, it becomes a goal in life to get atleast come close to beating it someday. So you keep that grudge against it to keep you motivated i guess. But i do love the trying. But if you do come this summer, i'll do a kick ass piece on you that kicks my ass too. Might be the nicest tattoo i do all year cuz i try harder, but that'll be why i'm mad at that one the most too. Ya Nunum Sayin'? lol

Thanks Tim, I appreciate the comment. the harder i try, the harder it gets. I guess if i found a place to mark a line and call it "the top" then i settle for halfway there.
I'll never do a tattoo i will consider 'erfect.' The more you learn the harder you step it up for yourself. If i stayed at 40 dollar roses and never budged from those i'd be a pretty damn good tiny rose tattooer. But once you get those roses down and get comfortable enough with what your doing to take the challenge a step further, then it starts all over again. So when it stomps your ass again, you're that much more willing to call it names lol. you know what i mean.

well i get it that you want your work appreciated and everything, but sometimes there are tattoos, like my own, that mean a lot to the customer, i for my part designed the writing on my own to get it tattooed. i mean, it's my skin which i'll have 4 the rest of my life.
but you're right when it comes to the fancy stuff, to the tattoos the customers want just for the sake of being tattooed,
and when there's a drawing of you which i'm stunned as soon as i see it and would be something i'd like tattooed i'll come to your place and u can use all the time u need
because what i saw from u, i really liked it and admire your work, for example the 2 wonderful drawings u did 4 the zindy-kontest
