This month I'm featuring the one and only Zindy Nielsen. I've been a huge fan of Zindys work for about 4 years now. I first noticed her work when i came across some celeb drawings she had done. I remember looking through her website and being amazed by the Jessica Alba drawings she had. Her talent was out of this world. I've been following her work since then and continue to do so. One of my biggest goals back then was to eventually have a drawing i drew of her in the fan art section on her website. I carried for almost 2 years a folder of pictures in my computer that i wanted to use for that purpose and figured when i had the nerve to draw them i would. Zindy now owns those drawings. I had the opportunity to reproduce a Zindy drawing as a tattoo which was very cool too because it gave me the chance to get to know her and we've been in touch ever since. Zindy is very humble, she always takes the time to stop by my page and leave comments on my work and it's very appreciated. Thanks to deviantart I had the chance to do that.
I don't use my account to be 'known' as a 'tattooer'. i use it to push my artwork in general. It's so much more of an accomplishment to have comments and positive feedback from artists like Zindy who are "Artists," because i never set out to become just a "tattooer." I'd much rather be respected as an all around artist than just a tattoo artist. Tattooing is just a way for me to take my artwork a step further. I don't draw because i tattoo, i tattoo because i draw. And having people that i look up to like this taking the time to give me pointers and being kind enough to be supportive is what makes it all worth while. She's the type of artist i work towards becoming like every day.
